This course serves as an introduction to basic elements of writing songs of your own.

Creating your own music isn't something you are necessarily born with; you have to practice and develop it, just like playing an instrument. All great writers have collected different approaches or writing tools that help them to make writing new music really easy. And this is exactly what you will be learning in the Songwriting 101 course.

Course Requirements

It is recommended that you have a basic understanding of at least one instrument for the purpose of creating and playing ideas for your songs. 

Concepts required for writing songs will be taught as part of the course, however any previous experience with music theory will be a plus.

If you have little to no experience with any instruments, you may want to consider taking one of our Beginner Courses or Private Lessons before enrolling in the Songwriting 101 course.

How Does The Course Work?

The Songwriting 101 course consists of fourteen (14) one-hour lessons which are taught over a four month period. In these sessions, you will learn new concepts and techniques for songwriting, get in-depth analysis of popular songs, as well as in-class training and support for writing songs of your own. Through out the course, you have the opportunity to perform your songs for the group or have them performed by an instructor.

How Much Does the Course Cost?

Tuition for this four month-long course is just $300 and includes all course materials. That is less than the price of four months worth of weekly half-hour lessons with a private teacher.
