Summer is the time to finally learn to play your guitar!

The LCCM's Summer Beginner Guitar Course is the perfect way to get your guitar playing started on the right foot. 

This 8-week group course is designed for absolute beginners who want to start playing guitar with confidence. Whether you're a complete beginner or just starting to figure things out, we'll guide you step-by-step through chords, strumming patterns, and simple riffs—all while learning real music along the way.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

• How to hold, tune, and play your guitar properly
  
• Foundational chords and rhythm techniques
• Strumming patterns for popular songs
• Basic riffs and 1-string melodies
• How to play your first full songs!

Required Background

None - This course is intended for those with little to no background in music or on the guitar.

Required Materials
To successfully complete this course, you will need

• Guitar - electric or acoustic
• Guitar Picks
• Binder
• Notebook
• Capo (optional, but strongly recommended)

Time Requirements

To successfully complete this course, the following amount of time will be required: 

• Class Time: Eight (8), One (1) hour in-class lessons, held once per week. 
• Practice Time: Fifteen (15) minutes, Five (5) times per week at home.

Course Details

• Format: 8 weekly group classes (1 hour each)
• Adult Class (15+): Wednesdays, 6:00pm - 7:00pm
• Youth Class: Mondays, 5:00pm - 6:00pm 

Price

The total price for this beginner course is $230 per student (all inclusive)

Discounts are available for students that wish to take private, one-on-one lessons with the LCCM in addition to the Beginner Guitar Course.
