Learn to play your favourite summer songs—perfect for campfires, patios, or beach nights!

The LCCM's Summer Guitar Song Course is the perfect way to get your guitar playing started on the right foot. 

Strumming by the fire, playing for friends, or just jamming for fun—this 8-week summer course will teach you how to play classic singalong songs on the guitar. Designed for players with at least 6 months of experience, this class focuses on building a fun and practical song set while sharpening your rhythm, chord transitions, and confidence.

What You'll Learn:

• Play 2–3 full songs start-to-finish
• Use a capo to play songs in your vocal range
• Learn versatile strumming patterns for different grooves
• Practice chord switching and rhythm timing
• Lead a group singalong or jam session with confidence
  

Course Format & Details

• 8 weekly group classes (1 hour each)
• Printed course book with lyrics, chords, and strumming patterns
• Sessions recorded for review
• Open to all ages (youth & adult learners welcome)
• Acoustic guitars encouraged (electrics welcome with small amp)

Minimum Student Requirements:
We recommend that students should have at least 3-6 months of guitar learning experience before signing up for this course.

Before joining, you should be:

• Comfortable playing open-position chords (G, C, D, Em, Am, etc.)
• Able to strum in time with simple patterns
• No need to read music or play lead—just rhythm skills and enthusiasm!
• Singing along is a plus, but not mandatory :D

Time Requirements

To successfully complete this course, the following amount of time will be required: 

• Class Time: Eight (8), One (1) hour in-class lessons, held once per week. 
• Practice Time: 20-30 minutes, Five (5) times per week at home.

• Start Date: Tuesday, July 10th, 2025
• End Date: Tuesday, August 28th, 2025
• Day of the Week: Thursdays
• Class Time: 5:00p - 6:00p

Price

The total price for this beginner course is $230 per student (all inclusive).

Discounts are available for students wishing to take private, one-on-one lessons at the LCCM in addition to the Summer Guitar Song Course.
