What a hidden gem! Piano, guitar, voice lessons and more nestled above the dance studio. There are many private rooms and a comfortable waiting area. It’s creatively decorated and each room is a different colour. Really great vibes here! I just started piano lessons and it’s been a great experience so far. My teacher Jake is very patient with me as a beginner and makes me feel comfortable. He has a great approach on teaching. Learning has been fun and I’ve really enjoyed our lessons! I also met one of the owners (Graham) and you can tell how passionate he is about his business. Whatever stage of life you are in, this is great for all ages. I highly recommend coming here :)

I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Graehme and I really appreciate his approach. He is a very compassionate person, which shows in his teaching, as well as an incredibly talented player. He makes a real effort to get to know you, your relationship to the instrument, to music, to who you are, and in combination with understanding your goals/hopes, guides you on a very personalized pathway. I’ve had many AHA! moments and have seen noticeable improvements in my playing and my knowledge.I really look forward to developing my relationship and understanding of music further under Graehme’s tutelage. I consider him a friend! Thank you so much Graehme!!

I'm taking drum lessons with Karl and vocal lessons with Graehme. Both are very knowledgeable, as well as patient and encouraging. I've made great progress thanks to these guys and I'd definitely recommend them.

I'm a classical pianist and I wanted to learn how to play the drums. I've been in many music schools during my studies but LCCM is unlike any I have ever seen. The school resonates with musical passion: the halls are lined with rock music paraphernalia and each music room is equipped with amazing equipment (I have the pleasure of playing on a $15,000 electronic drum kit in my lesson room). The teachers are also experts in their craft. My drum teacher, Karl, is the inventor of an innovative way of playing the drums called the "Coordination Code". Ask for it to be taught to you if you are learning the drums! It allowed me to play complicated patterns in a fraction of the time. I'm also going to start guitar lessons with LCCM soon! I highly recommend this school.

IMO this is the best places to take lessons. 3 members of my family have taken a variety of lessons here and the instruction is top notch. It's one thing to be knowledgable on a subject, but to be able to communicate that info effectively as an instructor is something else altogether. If you're looking to take lessons it'll be well worth your time to check it out.

I have been playing guitar with Graehme Floyd for almost 3 years now and I can safely say he has been my favourite teacher in all my years of education, not just in music. I have had the privilege to meet all the teachers at the school, Graehme, Tyce and Carl... They all want the best for their students and will do anything to accomodate for their needs.Don't want to play classical? No problem. Want to learn everything about theory? Easy, let's start here! Having trouble with rythym? Don't worry here are some exercises that will get you started. If you are unsure on where you wanna go with music, they have an effective system with levels of different colours to increase students knowledge on their instrument of choice - or voice!Since I've worked with Graehme the most, he has truly made music a world where I don't feel pressure to be perfect, but to enjoy what I am learning and what I'm playing. I hope to learn guitar with LCCM for many years to come. I thank you all for making me feel like part of the family.I recommend this school to ANYONE looking to start music in any way shape or form :D

My name is Renard Marion. I have been taking guitar classes for almost 10 yrs. I started when I was 73 yrs old and was privileged to have Graehme Floyd as my teacher. His knowledge is impressive and the fact that he truly cares for all his students is admirable.Choosing the London Conservatory of Contemporary Music is the best decision I ever made. I do not hesitate for one moment to strongly recommend them.Renald

In our home, we play a number of instruments including bagpipes, violin, harp, and flute. Karl and his team have always been an amazing resource for us. Whether we're looking for lessons, parts, or services, they have always been quick, reasonable, and knowledgable. Their passion for music vibrantly comes through their friendly service. As a women, it is important to me that I feel safe, heard, and treated with respect. Karl and his team create a space that is safe to learn, regardless of your experience. I have come to rely on their recommendations and trust them with my instruments.

Quality lessons from quality musicians. I taught guitar lessons with them for many many years and I can say with confidence that they always strive to give their students what they're looking for. Not everyone has aspirations of playing like Joe Satriani or Mike Portnoy. Some students, young and old, just want to get their skills to a point where they can play along with friends or casually around a camp fire. What ever musical goals you have for yourself, they will find a way to help you get there.

After drumming for 30 years, I met Karl and he straightened my bad habits and got me drumming better than I have ever experienced. I can go on and on about what he has done for me, things that make total sense. But to put it in a nutshell and show to you, he has both the theory and practical practises well laid out to build a solid drummer. I love this guy and has become one of my life’s greatest influences. I travel 2 1/2 hours for his lessons and it is worth every kilometre spent on the highway to rock and roll.

Overall, I had an excellent experience with LCCM. Both the instruction and the instructors are first class. I highly recommend anyone - young or old, beginner to experienced - to seek out the team at LCCM if they want to learn how to play an instrument (in my case guitar) or simply "fine tune" their skills. It is never too late to start learning how to play a musical instrument.

Drum Set (Battlesoul)

“I have had the honour and the privilege of working with Karl for a number of years both as an instructor and a student. What has always impressed me is his focus on process improvement. The term “good enough” is not in his lexicon. Whether you are a first time drummer, a student with physical disabilities, or myself who had a bad habit of playing “lazy double strokes' ' Karl will allow you to get the most out of your playing. In the age of endless youtube tutorials this is the value you will get from him and the rest of the staff at LCCM.”

“I first started taking lessons with Karl at LCCM four years ago, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. For a long time, I had wanted to learn to play the drums; upon mentioning this to a friend, he referred me to Karl Sloman, with whom he had previously played in a band. At my first meeting with Karl, I told him that I love classic rock and my all-time favourite band is RUSH (we have this in common). What is so great about Karl is that even though I was a beginner and had little to no experience on the drums, we dove right in to studying songs by Rush. This really encouraged me to continue with lessons because I knew I would be able to work on music pieces that I am passionate about, even though most Rush pieces are quite complex. Aside from tackling some insane Rush patterns, I also learned the basics, like reading music, practicing basic patterns, and proper grip on the sticks. I have really learned a lot in my four years with LCCM, and I am so glad that I decided to step out of my comfort zone and take lessons. Spending time studying and playing music is a great addition to my life, and I would recommend music lessons to anyone who has considered taking lessons but is unsure about it. My experience with LCCM has been amazing. No matter what age, style of music, or experience level, I would recommend lessons with LCCM to anyone.”

“If I didn’t have these lessons I wouldn’t be able to play at the same level of ability that I can now. I would recommend lessons to anyone wanting to learn.”

Guitar

“Graehme helped in all the areas in guitar lessons. When I heard about Graeme giving guitar lessons, I felt that is what i needed to do. I've always loved music and I already had a guitar, but i just couldn't remember how to play it. Here is what had happened with me, 11 years ago I had a stroke which left me with just about no memory of "me" as to what I had done, and what I had accomplished in my life. What was most annoying to me was that I just could not remember how to play my guitar but with Graehme's lessons it started to become easier, but a lot of times a lot would slip my memory, and Graehme was so patient with me and letting me know that it was okay to forget and he would teach me over what I forgot. I really love to play guitar… I would recommend Graehme for he is well experienced in what he does in his lessons. Thank you so much, Graehme.”

Presley

Guitar

“With Graehme I really enjoy my lessons. I enjoy that he is patient with me, if I don’t understand things we will go over them with me. And also, I like how he has different things to learn, it’s not just one part of the guitar that we learn about. We’ll learn about theory, and then about the guitar, and we’ll do songs and everything. To help me improve, it was guitar theory that helped me the most. I would definitely recommend Graehme to other people if they wanted to learn the guitar.”

Stephan

Parent

“[My daughter] enjoys them a lot, she really enjoys Graehme. She feels comfortable with Graehme which is very important for me and she enjoys the pace of the lessons. He is open to everything that I have to suggest which is very little with regards to teaching guitar, but if there is something of input that either of my kids have they can let me know and then I can tell Graehme and I feel quite comfortable doing that. When the conversation is brought up, I recommend Graehme every time.”

Phil

Guitar

"I enjoy the time together, it’s fun, and I’m glad to be here. I feel more confident. I’ve got more options that I can try. I need… I’m the sort of person that tends to need to work with guitar patterns and this approach has definitely expanded my abilities in that regard. So definitely improvement.

Anybody stands to benefit, especially somebody that’s been playing for a long time like I have and basically came to a plateau. We, I think this is something that we do as players. We sort of grow and then we stick, and then find that we learn a bit something new. And, we’re all capable of doing more if we apply the right process and I think this is the right process."

Rick

Drum Set

"As a hobby drummer, I had been playing drums for around 30 years and hardly ever taking time away from playing. I toyed with the thoughts of taking some lessons, when a friend introduced me to Karl.

From our first handshake, Karl instantly became like a brother I hadn’t seen in years. His personality and his professionalism went hand in hand as we sat down and approached the fundamentals. His knowledge of all aspects of drumming went far beyond anything that I have ever thought of. Immediately he began shaping my technique to have an everlasting effect of a quicker method of self improvement that is still in effect 10 years later.

Along with publishing a drumming book with a simplified way of reading a drum score that anyone can understand (believe me because I tried it with a non-drummer), Karl's enthusiasm and talent contributes amazingly to the people that study under him. I will always be in his debt when I sit behind a kit and my hands and feet just float around to the beat of the music."

Terry

Guitar

"I played guitar when I was younger and I thought I has learned how to play the songs properly, but after watching Graehme and then having the opportunity to start taking lessons with him and some of the structure he did, I found at first Graehme was, figured he was going to put in this form of schedule, which is quite accurate and I should probably do more of it, but what I wanted to learn was these songs that I’d learned or thought I’d learned when I was a  kid and play then accurately or properly or closest to what the artist originally intended and I’ve found with Graehme I’m closer to accomplishing that goal."
